Compliant: HIPAA CCHITClinical Encounter-Overview
The heart and soul of the physician-patient relationship is the clinical encounter. The level of trust and respect needed to best serve the patient’s welfare requires a clinician to focus their time on the patient, not on a computer screen. With SuccessEHS, practitioners are not only able to see more patients, but better care for them.
Before
SuccessEHS® is designed to address the varying needs of different physicians within each practice, from scheduling preferences to treatment protocols. Before the visit:
• Review that patient’s chart
• Review and import pertainent medical, family and social history into the patient’s note
• Evaluate customized flow-charts of lab data and vitals
• Import current problems, medications, and previous notes into the current note
• Assess patient alerts for outstanding deferred orders, clinical events, and orders not performed using the Clinical Event Manager.
During
During the encounter, SuccessEHS’s Clinical Console provides a clear path for capturing encounter documentation, charge information, and associated sign-off and follow-up activities. During the visit:
• Use wireless pen tablet technology to maintain eye contact with the patient
• Benefit from the Medcin clinical knowledge base with intelligent prompting for differential diagnosis and relevant lists of interrelated medical terminology
• Employ SuccessEHS’s built-in speech recognition engine, SpeechMagic Create a plan of care including automated referral forms from Patient Correspondence engine
• ePrescribe using Multum and SureScripts
After
A successful clinical encounter doesn’t end when the patient leaves the room – there are claims to file, results to review, and protocols to track. After the visit:
• Review and/or charges for electronic submission to charge entry with the eSuperbill
• Work audit trails for delinquent orders and delinquent deferred orders
• Review and sign-off on encounters
• Manage eTelephone calls and Flags
• Manage patient population for protocol compliance using the Clinical Event Manager
