With additional certification in Child Health.
NATICK, MA – EMB Medical Practice Management, a single source solution for medical billing services, practice management software and electronic medical records, announces that its EMR component CareRevolution® 5.3, has been approved as a fully CCHIT Certified® 2011 Ambulatory EHR with additional certification in Child Health. CareRevolution was in the first group of EHR products to receive 2011 certification from the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT®), while also being one of the first to earn a five-star rating for usability, the highest rating possible.
To receive the CCHIT Certified 2011 certification, CareRevolution underwent an exhaustive battery of tests of its functionality, interoperability, and security. This certification requires verification by CCHIT of operational use at two physician offices for a specific period of time. Previously, CareRevolution was certified under CCHIT’s 2007 and 2006 criteria.
CareRevolution 5.3 is also certified in CCHIT’s Preliminary ARRA 2011 program based upon the proposed federal criteria and standards existing at the time of its initial inspection. This preliminary certification indicates that EHS took early steps to prepare CareRevolution for final EHR technology certification once the US Department of Health and Human Services, Office of the National Coordinator (ONC)-accredited testing and certification becomes available. Final criteria and test procedures are not yet available, nor has CCHIT been accredited yet by ONC. Meaningful use of certified EHR technology is a requirement for providers who wish to qualify for incentive funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
